The esports festival, an international gaming and esports event, which is currently ongoing at the Riyadh Boulevard in Saudi Arabia, will be an 8 week event that will run from July 14th until the 8th of September, 2022. The event is organized by the Saudi Esports Federation and Gamers without borders and is geared to showcase over 1,000 entertainment and cultural activities, which will range from musical concerts to comedy to magic shows etcetera.
The theme of the Gamers8 event is, “Your Portal to the Next World” and it has been described as the biggest esports and gaming event worldwide. The Gamers8 will feature some of the world’s best players and teams to compete across popular titles, such as Rocket League, Dota 2, Fortnite, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege and PUBG Mobile.
The Gamers8 festival promises fun-filled events, shows, and futuristic experiences that will bring the virtual world of gaming to fans and lovers of esports.
The festival will feature concerts headlined by some of the world’s best musicians from Nigerian award winning singer; Wizkid; to Puerto Rican reggaeton star; Ozuna, right down to the Black Eyed Peas.
Other artists billed to perform at the event are; Colombian singer, J Balvin; Swdis DJ Axwell, Belgian artists, Lost Frequencies; rapper Lil Pump, Emirati-Yemeni singer, Balqees, Egypts Hamaki, Saudi rapper, Dafencil. Lebanese pop star, Nancy Ajram, Producer Marshmello, Egyptian Afro-pop singer; Amir Diab etc.
The tournaments will be broadcast live on the festival’s social media channels in more than eight languages including Arabic and English. The event boasts of a $15 million (£12.2 million/€14.3 million, N6.3billion) prize pool.
Saudi Arabia has an estimated 23.5 million gamers across the country, and has grown to become a major esports player in recent years, as a part of its growing investment in sport.
