BetPawa, an online betting and gaming company, which recently became the headline sponsor for the Ghana Premier League in a 3 year deal, has donated modernized IT equipment to the Ghana Gaming Commission, in order to establish a Responsible Gaming Call Center at the Commission.
According to the gaming brand, the donation is part of their company’s agenda, to promote responsible gaming in the country. The aim of establishing the center, is to educate people about the importance of viewing betting as a form of entertainment, and to bet only what they can afford.
Mr. Eazi, who is the founder and major stakeholder of the BetPawa brand, stated that their company, place a lot of importance on responsible gaming, and acknowledged the fact that sportsbetting is an addictive activity. He emphasized that their company, is committed to ensuring that people don’t suffer harm through gaming, hence the reason for initiating the establishing of the Responsible Gaming Centre at the Commission.
Mr. Peter Mireku, of the Ghana Gaming Commission, commended BetPawa for their gesture and urged other sport betting operators, to show similar support.
BetPawa has also been involved in some Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities over the years, through campaigns such as; the Dream Maker, WIN BIG, and Give Back among others.
