The state of New York through its Gaming Commission would allow residents and visitors alike to start placing remote wagers on a wide range of sporting action from Saturday, January 8, 2022. Sportsbetting picks can now be lodged with the sites of the four licensed mobile friendly online sportbook providers; FanDuel.com, BetRivers.com, Caesarssportsbook.com, DraftKings.com.
These providers was reported to have garnered in excess of $1.17 billion in aggregated handle over the course of their first 16 days in operation, and this is said to have earned the state about $46.2 million in tax revenue.
Another sportsbook betting site, PointsBet.com domain, which is from the operator, PointsBet USA has gone live in New York from Monday Jan 24th, 2022, while Bally’s Corporation is reportedly planning to launch a localised version of its BallyBet.com after April, 2022. License has also been issued to BetMGM and will be allowed to accept wagers once requirements are met.
The NYSGC is said to have issued more licenses to Wynn Resorts Limited and Genting Malaysia Berhad for their WynnBet.com and ResortsWorldBet.com, though they are yet to go live.
