World no 6 seed; Rafael Nadal has won the Australian Open 2022, which gave him his 21st Grand Slam title; the most won in men’s singles history. Nadal won against Daniil Medvedev by winning the 3rd, 4th and the decisive 5th after dropping the first two sets to Daniil.
Federer, Djokovic and Nadal were all in the run for the 21st Grand slam after holding 20 Grand slams each but Federer was out due to injury and Djokovic, the favourite to win was refused play and deported for not being vaccinated. Congratulations to Nadal for a great comeback.
World no 1 seed; 25 year old Australia, Ashleigh Barty has won the Australian Open 2022, making her the first Australian woman to win the tournament since 1978.
