Gaming in Tanzania: Corporate Social Responsibility.

Gaming in Tanzania: Corporate Social Responsibility.

In the last 20 years, the betting sector in Tanzania is said to be the fastest growing sector. This massive growth is attributed largely to huge investments by foreign firms in the sector, and this is all thanks to the sound investment climate set by the Tanzanian Government.

According to the Gaming Board of Tanzania (GBT) the gaming sector in the country has accounted for sh170 billion into the country’s GDP and has also created over 25,000 employments to the citizens within the time.

Sportspesa, a leading online gaming platform across the East Africa region is one of the companies that has invested a lot of money in the sector that has attracted a lot of gamers.

Sportspesa offers services like traditional sports games fixtures, jackpots with cashbacks, online casino, roulette, blackjacks, aviators etc. and in recognition of the role people play in growing their business, engages in corporate social responsibility as a way of giving back to communities.

Sportspesa officials paid a visit and supplied some basic needed items to patients at the newborn & maternity ward at the Singida Referral Hospital.

The company is said to have a culture of giving back to the communities through good deeds.

Engaging in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) that gives back to communities in whatever form, is a worthy cause as it not only gives a better perception of the industry to the public but helps to demystify the negative bias associated with gaming operations.
