N L R C Renews Betway’s Gaming License for Nationwide Operations
The National Lottery Regulatory Commission has renewed the National gaming license of Betway, an online betting and gaming brand in Abuja. Betway, a part of Super Group is a leading provider of innovative and exciting entertainment across sports betting, casino and esports betting.
This renewal will enable Betway to carry out its operations in all states and local government areas in the country for another five (5) years.
The Director General of the Commission, Mr. Lanre Gbajabiamila, commended the management and board of Betway, for always complying with regulations guiding the betting and gaming sector of the industry. The DG encouraged them to continue with their exemplary compliance with regulations and assured them of a more strengthened regulator-business relationship going forward.
In a statement in Abuja, Anthony Werkman on behalf of the Betway brand, stated that the brand is honoured to have had the privilege of serving Nigerian customers in a way that is consistent with their global practices, and so they are grateful to NLRC for the renewal of their license.
He added that as a brand, Betway always strive to put customer satisfaction, and responsible gaming at the centre of its operations, and consider regulatory compliance in any country where it operates, as a primary responsibility.
Werkman stated further that ensuring that their customers are playing in a fair, safe, secure and responsible environment, will help them to continue to grow globally.
Mr. Chris Ubosi who lead the team to receive the renewed license added that Betway has long been well-regarded due to their generous service in various Nigerian communities with initiatives that include the donation of relief materials to flood victims in Bayelsa State, the provision of portable water in Lagos, the donation of several million’s worth of sports equipment to gyms across Nigeria and the provision of medical finance assistance alongside the Lagos State Gaming Authority.
