The quest for who will win the bid for the fourth UK National Lottery License, which has been underway for quite some time now, is gradually reaching a climax.
The bidding process has occasioned reports of favoritism towards Camelot; legal clap backs from rival bidders should the vote swing to Camelot etc., so everyone is waiting to see who will be the one to run the UK National lottery come 2024.
Is it the Canadian owned Camelot that has been running the UK National Lottery since its inception (a track record of 27 years). Or
Czech owned Allwyn (formerly SAZKA) ran by Czech billionaire; Karel Komarek, which is said to be Europe’s largest lottery operator and has managed lotteries in several countries including Austria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Greece and Italy or
Italian Firm; Flutterwave Entertainment Plc which by its purchase of Sisal Group that operates lotteries in Italy, Morocco & Turkey has established itself as a contender or
Northern & Shell Plc, a significant force in British & worldwide media (television broadcaster, national newspapers, celebrity magazines); ran by Media mogul Richard Desmond.
The UK Gambling Commission is expected to present its final choice to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport soon, which will then be reviewed by the DCMS Secretary before a public announcement will be made, as to who will run the National Lottery come February 2024.
