An online video has shown where a man was confronted by his friends for allegedly stealing over 6 million from the friend’s account to wager on sports bet.
According to the story gathered from the video trending online, the man seen begging in the video, used funds from the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card, given to him by his friend to buy food, to fund his sports bet wallet.
It was reported that the culprit linked the card to a sports-bet app and repeatedly placed bets, ranging from N40k to N170k, to the tune of over N6m (USD$13.5k), with funds from his friend’s account.
According to the victim, the friend was tracked down to Badagry, Lagos State Nigeria, where he was finally apprehended.
On questioning the culprit, as shown from the video, he admitted to using the funds to gamble, with the intention of multiplying the money through winnings.
The culprit was arrested by the Nigerian police.
