The MegaMillions Naija (MMN) Lotteries; owned by International Gaming and Entertainment Limited, has been a new entrant in the Nigerian lottery space.
According to the Chief Operating Officer of the MMN Lotteries; Victor Nwaobia, the company now has partnerships with over 20 international lotteries worldwide like the US Megamillions, US Powerball, Euromillions, Eurojackpot, La Primitiva, El Gordo, Bonoloto, SuperEnaloto, Australian Powerball, Lotto649 etc.
The games for the international partners, can be accessed via the MMN Lotteries’ platform, and played with the naira currency, and the lowest jackpot on their platform is currently worth about N30 million, with some jackpot prices as high as over N200 billion.
According to the COO, it is purely a game of chance, as no skill set, or knowledge of the game is required for a player to play on the MMN lotteries’ platform. All a player needs to do, is pick a set of numbers from a group and play them. Players can also let the system pick the numbers for them.
He explained that consumers can play and win every day of the year, on their platform. He went further to state that as soon as someone wins a jackpot on their platform, it automatically resets to a standard amount that will continue to grow, till the next draw. (Just like in international loto jackpot games)
According to their explanation, the system creates your ticket instantly after you register and choose your numbers. Draws for each game, takes place on various days and in different forms, depending on the game chosen. For example, if a player purchased a U.S. Megamillions ticket, then five white balls will be drawn from a set of balls numbered 1-70; while one gold Mega Ball will be drawn from a set of balls numbered 1-25.
